5/5 experience!
Highlights: Quality of work, cost, customer service, timing
I was nervous about choosing a wedding dress tailor and went through so many reviews and cost comparisons, and working with Nora was so kind, quick &… More thorough.
I had 3 appointments scheduled and ended up having one extra because they wanted to make the neckline and sleeves fit perfectly which I greatly appreciate the commitment to quality (without extra charge!). I asked for the standard alterations (hem, bustle, take in at the waist, & added on a neckline alteration & sleeve alteration).
I didn’t feel fully confident after I bought my dress initially (from Anthropologie), and Nora and her team did such a good job I felt more and more beautiful each time I tried it on. Nora spoke so kindly, not at all rude or rushed or condescending like I’ve heard other people experience at other places during their wedding dress alterations.
Below are photos from the alteration sessions and from my wedding.
Highly recommend Victoria’s Bridal Couture!
Nora did a great job with my wedding dress alterations; she was very nice and had great attention to detail. My dress turned out great and she was even able to add a strip of my mom’s wedding dress into mine which was incredibly special… More and she made it look so good! Would recommend.
Victoria's Bridal was recommended to me by the bridal boutique where I bought my dress - and I'm so so glad! They did the most fantastic job altering my dress to fit me perfectly - and they NAILED the bustle. Also they are… More just super fun and awesome and made me feel beautiful throughout the process. I recommend scheduling well in advance as they get quite busy - especially during the summer. They were very timely and I felt their pricing was very fair. Highly recommend!

Nora made my wedding dress disaster into a beautifully fitting dress. The salon that I purchased my dress from mis-cut the top by 1.5 inches, but Nora was willing to get me in on short notice and saved the day! She has great attention… More to detail and was able to fit a dress that I didn't think was fixable. I would highly recommend Victoria's Bridal for all seamstress needs!
Victoria's Bridal did an amazing job on the alterations on my wedding dress. I fell in love with a dress without a back which was definitely a potential disaster for my larger bust. I was told by the shop that sold me the dress… More that they would be able to sew in a bra but after talking to a few places for alterations it became very clear that wasn't actually an option. After many different stick on bra options and some amazing alterations, my dress looked amazing. They made me feel confident and assured through the process, and I couldn't have been happier with their work.
I'm so glad I took my dress to Nora for all the help she gave us not only with the fit of the dress, but also some extremely helpful guidance in terms of taking care of it, getting it fastened more easily, and showing my mom how… More to bustle the dress so I could dance easily in it.
I think it's also worth me pointing out (for LGBT visibility on this) that I felt very comfortable working with Nora the whole time. I've also been a little self conscious about my size in the past, but I felt very accepted and beautiful in my own wedding dress thanks in no small part to Nora's amazing work.

I bought my dress at Anthropologie and Victoria's bridal was on their list of recommended tailors. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I sent detailed images of my dress and was quoted $800. A couple of months later,… More at the end of my first appointment, the tailor handed me a bill for over $1600. After I checked with her, she took a couple hundred off for the bustle but basically said sometimes prices of materials and services change. I was completely shocked. This drastic price change should be communicated to customers. I was lucky that I could scrape together an unplanned expense and pay more than my dress for alterations... But I am a teacher and this was a pretty big blow financially.
I should have taken my dress back then and gone somewhere else, but I figured that I wouldn't have time and told myself it was worth it. It wasn't. The seamstress was not friendly, and didn't take questions well.
When she finished the bustle it was a line of hooks (like small bra hooks) along the back of my dress and was an eyesore. I took it back and she fixed the bustle, but this left holes along the seam where the hooks were.
My fitted dress had buttons down the back, and after tailoring a button under my butt didnt lay right and caused a weird fold if I leaned back at all. When I brought this up, she snapped "you won't be bending over backwards at your wedding!" And didn't address it further. Well, I just got my photos back and that weird fold is apparent in many of my photos. That spot makes it look ill fitted and sloppy. (And yes you WILL be bending back at your wedding when dancing, dipping, kissing, and laughing!)
Also, when I took my dress in to get the bustle fixed, her assistant told me an incredibly disturbing annecdote about wanting to euthanize his cat by putting it in the freezer... Not what you want to hear when you're in wedding mode (or ever!!!)
All in all, this was one of the most stressful and disappointing parts of planning my wedding. I shed many tears. The whole process made me dislike my dress from all of the stress associated with it. I would not recommend this place.
Highly recommend getting your dress altered here! Nora has such an attention to detail and is so talented and skilled! My dress was gorgeous and fit absolutely perfectly. Nora made adjustments I didn’t even know I needed and was so… More helpful.
Nora created the most beautiful waltz length ivory english net veil for me – it is absolutely perfect and I truly can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. Nora was extremely responsive via email, provided great advice and tips… More during our fitting, and provided a professional and thoughtful experience. I definitely recommend her for custom veils.
I had a wonderful experience working with Nora on my wedding dress. Nora was open and honest from the get go on what could and could not be done with my gown, as the salon had clipped me into it when I purchased it and gave an illusion… More of certain silhouettes that couldn’t be accomplished in real life because I wouldn’t actually be able to sit down, dance or pee in my dress on my wedding day. Instead she worked with me to find creative ways to give me the silhouette I wanted and everything turns out beautiful. At one point I was so upset about having been misled by the bridal salon that Nora actually visited my salon in Ballard to learn more about the manufacturer of my dress and see how she could help. Above and beyond service and craftsmanship on the work. 10/10 would return.
The women at Victoria’s Bridal Couture were a dream team to help me complete my wedding dress. I had purchased my dress from BHLDN and while I loved it, it needed some help to make sure it fit my needs. After a quick phone call to… More get the scheduling organized, I knew I was in good hands. Three quick and simple visits made my dress fit like a dream and made me feel like a queen. Each visit was quicker and easier than the previous. My dress was always treated well and beautifully presented when I arrived. The team was a joy to work with and made me feel at ease. I would highly recommend working with Victoria’s Bridal Couture for any of your bridal dress needs.
Walking in Teresa was really nice and help me understand what I'm looking for and understand some prices. She let me know the best time to visit the shop is late October after Halloween to see the most unique outfits. This is… More a tiny little family business where you can get your dress modified or create a custom design. There's cards for photographers on the left side of the store and on the right side is dressing rooms.
